ALERE Accounting Software by TIW Technology


ALERE has a broad range and depth of features that make it extremely appealing to a wide variety of businesses. Since day-to-day processes are important to running your company, the design of ALERE has focused on making them as easy as possible.

ALERE Accounting's modular design packs a lot of features in just a few modules. Having fewer modules than the competition means not only lower cost, but also a simpler to use interface. ALERE offers the following modules:

Manager
General Ledger
Sales
Purchases
Inventory
Configuration

The ALERE Manager module encompasses all system wide functions such as bank reconcilliation, user maintenance (security), screen and report modification tools, code maintenance, and tax codes. In the General Ledger, users can print financial statements, manage their chart of accounts, and make journal entries. With the Sales module, ALERE combines all of the sales functions into a single module. From order entry, to shipping, to invoicing, and right through to the cash receipt the sales functions are contained here in this module. Likewise with purchases, TIW has combined what other systems would commonly call Accounts Payables and Purchase Orders to one single module. The inventory module boasts an impressive array of features which include: serial, lot, and trait tracking; mass shipping; multiple locations support and warehouse transfer orders; and up to two images can be linked to each item to give users a picture or drawing, etc. of the actual item.

ALERE comes in both a LAN and CS edition. The LAN edition includes the database engine (Microsoft Visual FoxPro) whereas the CS edition is a client server product which utilizes the Microsoft SQL Database Server.
