Unity System Module
The System Module is the core of the Unity Data Collection Suite. It's purpose is to tie all of the modules together and to give a central location for company setup, user security, and system maintenance functions such as rebuilding indexes. Additionally the System module offers report and label modification tools.
New to Version 7.2
- User Security User maintenance now includes an optional password life field to specify the number of days that a password will last before it expires. The expiration date option is to force users to change password at log-in once the password has expired.
- Pocket Terminal Unity Pocket Terminal has been changed so that it now shows reasons why scans fail. For example if someone scans an employee badge for an employee that is marked as inactive, the screen displays the badge number that was scanned, the employee name, and a note that they are inactive.
- Pocket Terminal Inventory Module users can now print the item labels from the Unity Pocket Terminal interface.
- User Security User passwords can now be encrypted as an option or they can be recorded in the table as plain text.
- Open transactions screen is now resizable.
- Pocket Terminal In pocket terminal,
the software can optionally get the time from the server rather than the PC,
so the enduser cannot manipulate their clock times for transactions.
Software Features
- Pocket PC Terminal program for
use with terminal services. This application can be run through the terminals
services client on your pocket PC device and designed to fit on the small
screens of most Pocket PC and Windows Mobile devices. Or the Pocket PC
Terminal can be used on a standard PC and utilized as a data collection
station. Data entered through the Pocket Terminal is validated in
real-time against the appropriate database. An additional feature of
the Pocket Terminal is that it displays the name of the employee in the last
scanned field after an employee's badge has been scanned. This helps
to provide end-users with a verification that their badge scanned properly.
Users can also use the Pocket Terminal for item look-up. Quickly find the
location of a given item simply by scanning the items barcode. The
screen also displays the current on hand quantity at each location.
(This feature works in conjunctions with the ALERE accounting system while Unity is linked to ALERE.)
- RTP and RTPe Software Included Both the Real Time Polling TNET and Ethernet edition software are included with the System Module. The RTP software provides auto-posting features as well as support for Computerwise Data Collection Hardware.
- Multi-Company Support allows for up to 999 separate companies.
- User Level Security gives the administrator the ability to grant or deny access to the different processes within the software by each individual user. Each user has their own User ID and Password to use when logging into Unity. Each user can change their own password at anytime with the change password option.
- Terminal Emulation Screen can be used to replicate the functions of the Computerwise terminals on the PC for data entry puposes. The terminal emulation screen can validate entered data in real-time against the appropriate database files.
- Report and Label Modification Tools are built in.
- US Software’s Code 3 of 9 Bar Code Font is automatically installed with client installation.
- Open Transactions Screen, shows all open clock in transactions where the employee has not yet clocked out. It also provides a way to quickly clock out of a transaction where you are already clocked in.
The data can be filtered by transaction date.
- Centralized Import Functions Data import functions are centralized in a convenient area of the File menu. Thus combining the individual modules import functions into one single location.
- Auto Shutdown and System Messages features give users the ability to automatically shutdown Unity at a specified time. The new messaging feature allows for system messages to be broadcast to every Unity user.
- Pop-Up Calendar feature for all date entry fields.
- Long Filename Support allows for using long file names in data paths.
- Friendly, Easy to Use Interface. A User Defined Toolbar feature allows for customizing the toolbar for each user
- Microsoft Visual FoxPro 9.0 is the powerful database and OOP (object oriented programming) language which powers Unity.
